The Cape, Tanap and Transcribing

in South African History

In July of 2006, I posted on the TANAP project in 2006. I came across this site again today, and was intrigued by a page called “Transcribing the inventories – a personal experience” where transcribers and editors talk of their experiences working on the Inventories of the Orphan Chamber of the Cape of Good Hope.

The Dutch East India Company had a great effect on The Cape of good Hope. This page on transcribing the Inventories look very interesting and I look forward to reading more of it.
